From time to time, I write about the places I've been.
The Shenzhen Daily Series (extended)
_In December of 2011, I began a column for the Shenzhen Daily which features one temple a week (usually).
When I write those articles, the first version is sometimes too long. So
here I'm publishing the "original" form, along with added links,
photos, and maps.
The "SZD" link leads to the version in the online ShenZhen Daily. Numbers in [brackets] indicate my count up to the total 142 Key Temples; items with no bracketed numbers are not on the list. (This was updated September of 2013)

- "The Bones of the Buddha" (about a visit to Ayuwang Temple, Ningbo), was published in the online magazine Baicai. This was reprinted in modified form in the Winter 2010-2011 SACS Newsletter. As Baicai is now defunct, I have now republished a slightly-amended version on this site.)
- "Chinese Pilgrimage: Putuoshan" (a rehash); scroll down. A PDF file of the Hsilai Temple Magazine; scroll down to find my article.
- "Discovering Temples in Shenzhen" a 2006 article for Yantian Container Terminal's "Time & Tides" magazine. It was butchered a bit, but you can still glean something from it. It's a slow PDF download; then scroll down to the magazine's page 42 (or enter page 44 in the PDF interface). Included are text and pictures from Hong Fa Temple in Fairy Lake, Luohu; the Tian Hou Gong in Chiwan, Nanshan; and Guan Di Miao, Xin'an Ancient City, Nanshan.
