The Sutra Repository
As with the Lecture Hall, there is generally little to see here, although some Sutra Repositories (经堂 jing tang) are open, and may contain statues along with cases of books.
These wrapped books (and the statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva) are inside the sutra repository at Guangren Temple in Xi'an, the signboard of which is shown above.
The Ming-Period figure of Vairocana Buddha (left) is in the sutra repository at the top of Huayan Temple on Zhiti Mountain in Ningde, Fujian. He is surrounded by smaller Buddha figures; on either side (one shown right) are book cases containing sutras.
